An over 50 hours boring travel brought me to a little paradise on earth, Gothic lodge from CMH. 4 days of pure relax & enjoy for body and soul. We started the days with yoga, then a delishes breakfast. At 9:00h we took the helicopter how brought us above the clouds to untracked beautiful mountains of British Columbia. Every day we flew up 10 different mountains, over 10.000 vertical meters a day. During the day we had good lunch on one of the untracked mountains. After heliboarding-skiing we went back to the lodge, straight in the hot tube with a cocktail, we rolled in the snow after the sauna and then again a very, very good meal. Thank CMH. After 4 days I went back to reality. I drove to Revelstoke for the competition, it is snowing since 4 days so we wait for better weather to ride the competition, probably Friday. I enjoy the snow with other riders, yesterday I broke out 10cm of the edge on my board. Too motivated riding I guess. Hope the local shop is able to repair my board.

I have two lines in my head. One very steep line with three cliffs, a tricky line because of sluff. One easier line with many cliffs, more relaxed riding. Both looks fun.

People in Revelstoke are extreme motivated in freeriding. Today there was a line from about 300 meter in front of the lift before the lift was even open. All because of new snow and a little bit of sunlight coming through.

Tonight, 30 of december at 6 pm I start my travel to Canada. The 1st of January I arrive in the Gothics lodge Canada, a lodge in the middle of nowhere. There I go heliboarding 4 days with CMH.

5 January I drive to Revelstoke, there I ride a FWT competition. 12 January I fly back home.

In a few weeks the Freeride World Tour starts. 7 Januari is the first competition in Revelstoke Canada, British Columbia. I look forwards to ride with big names like Xavier De La Rue, Flo Orley etc.

After Revelstoke there are competitions in :

*Kirkwood (CA)                                 *Fieberbrunn (AT)

The ‘grande finale’ is in Bec de Rosses in Verbier.

The Freeride World Tour is expensive.  MK Skisurvice and CMH Benelux are sponsoring me but still is the biggest part to pay by myself (transport, part of accomodation, lift cards, insurance and registration fee). Because of that I ask the community for an open amount of money. Riding the Freeride World Tour is for me a dream comming trou.

In return I deliver new story’s at my blog, spectacular pictures an interview to Wepowder before and after every competition and I‘ll do my best to reach the stage.

I’ve been guiding for Wepowder and Epique. 70 freeriders, 10 guides and 3 days. We had a really good time, I showed 7 guests amazing off-piste runs from Arlberg, taught them about avalanche danger, brought them to their limits and improved their skills. One guest told me he had one of his best days of his life, a better compliment I can’t imagine. I love guiding, share my passion and challenge people.

Today I have been boarding to my limits again. big drops, couloirs and natural hits. I’m happy like a kid.

Now I’m back at my apartment in Langen am Arlberg. 10 till 40 cm new snow since one week… Since for days I’m riding pillows, couloirs and threeruns with massive snow. My knee is still hurting from the surgery but can’t stop me schreding deep powpow.

Since I was a little boy I had a wish: working in a Circus, traveling with friends, flying trapeze, joggling and all you can see in the circus. Training with discipline, creative searching to limits of our body.

This wish became obscured, I thought there are more important things to do in life. But I find out that our goal is to be happy and satisfied and to share this. Now I’m 30 years old, travelled a lot, had interested jobs and was always searching for extreme nature and feel it by doing extreem sports like climbing, wild water kajaking, down-hill and freeriding. Now I’m in the Freeride World Tour and with my buddy’s in the super movie By Fair Means.

My wish to work in a circus came through, with all ups and downs. The only different is that the circus tent changed into a world. Sinds vier dagen rijd ik weer poedervelden, threeruns, pilow lines en couloirs, hard, maar met pijn aan mijn voor kort geopereerde knie. Winter 2013 is begonnen, zie foto’s.

Sinds kleine jongen had ik een wens: werken in een groot circus. Reizen met vrienden, vliegen in de trapeze, jongleren en wat nog alles te zien is in een circus. Gedisciplineerd trainen en creatief opzoek naar de limieten waartoe wij in staat zijn.

Deze wens vervaagde, ik dacht dat er belangrijkere dingen te doen zijn in het leven. Maar ik kwam erachter dat het doel is gelukkig en tevreden te zijn in het leven en dit te delen. Nu ben ik 30 jaar, heb veel gereisd, veel uitdagende en interessante jobs gehad en was altijd op zoek naar extreme natuur en verbintenis door ‘extreem’ sport. Ik rijd in de Freeride World Tour en ben in de super movie By Fair means met de Steinbocks.

First of all my condolences to friends and family of Steven, who died in the last weeks in an avalanche. As Maurice said: ‘The mountains giving us so match, but sometimes it take things back’.        But we keep on riding, with all the respect for what happened, and all respect for the Nature.

My knee is still hurting, revalidation is going slow. At least I can bike and I have been biking some super steep and technical high alpine downhills at home in Arlberg. Yesterday I get stocked in an old avalanche and had to climb down a dry waterfall to fiend an old alpine track.

Monday is the great day, you can see our full movie ‘By Fair Means’ online. This movie is the product of pure joy from freeriding, friendship, love of the mountains and the constant push to ride harder. „By Fair Means“ is a project from the „Gnarlberg Steinbocks“ crew. The entire film was shot in the Arlberg, Austria and had no external funding or sponsorship!! Basically ‘do it yourself’ at ITS BEST!!!
