There is very little snow in the Alps on the moment.
I ride with guest on the glacier and I train rope techniques for mountaineering and avalanche training. Beside I watch footage from last season.

Still not a lot of snow in the alps, so if you want to find some interesting skiing and touring – go up high. Friends and I went up the Weisseespitze.
Ski touring to the Weissseespitze you actually skin partly through Italy before reaching the Peak. The Gepatscherferner glacier is humongous and one of the biggest in the Alps.

We had perfect conditions for our touring day sun and low winds. Our mission of the day was to skin/ridge climb up to the Weissseespitze a peak that is 3526 m. A 600-700 vertical meter skin starting at about 2900 m.

We thought the most likely scenario would be to ski a mellow run on the Glacier and then ridge climb back down. But after some consideration we decided to go for the north face just below the peak. A huge, steep big mountain line above the resort. It was a great run and for many of us the first run of the season. It skied well – Compact, settled powder on a hard but not icy surface.

Magic moments in the mountains. Shortly before the winter is there.

Last Saturday Gerlinde from ‚Open Collaborative’ and I organized an event about sustainable alpine tourism. Among the participants were representatives of the following associations: Alpenverein, ÖAV, Cirpa, My Bleu Planet, Mountain Wilderniss, Haldigrat AG
Furthermore I work on my photographs and I had my first photo exhibition.
Yesterday I was again in the mountains and shot these Photos:
After a trip to Holland where my girlfriend and I visited Famely friends and Mountain Hard Wear and Super Naturel I went hiking in Arlberg. Together wit two friends and my super MHW and SN gear.
Our goal was Mannheimer Hütte, but we did not reach it because of snow and ice.
I came back with great footage:
Steep hiking
Carefully walking and climbing along the ridge

This was the first point where we had to turn around. Not far below the Mallheimer Hütte. In the dark we went down and at 19:45h we finaly found a cabin for the night.

The next morning we had breakfest high up in the mountains

The second day we tried an other way but again we did not reach the Mannheimer Hütte. Another long day, 20:00h we where back in the civilisation.
I often enjoy the sunset while I drive down my home run to Bregenz. Not for long anymore, because I look for a place to live back in the mountains. The last meters are through Bregenz. This is a part of my home run:
I’m in Cabre Perdu, is a piece of land in the middle of the nature in south of France, on a hill with an amazing view. There were many ruins who my parents me and friends rebuilt in the last 15 years. We rebuilt it in old style, used our own threes, stones, and other natural products. For example, we have painted the house with flour, oils and pigment. Better just check the pictures. Before… and after… (guest house: http://www.cabreperdu.com)
Tomorrow to Zurich were I take participate in a photo contest. Then back home to Austria. Preparations for the winter…
Last week me and Iris organized and realized a Circus with kids from 4 till 12 years from hotel Burg Vital in Oberlech. After six days the kids performed a great show!
I think the skills the kids learn in a circus are as important as the skills they learn at school. For example:
Plus they learn with ardor and enthusiasm. Probably the best way to learn!!! I don’t remember lots of these moments of my school time.
Beside my job as industry climber, cleaning rocks above rail wails, I prepare a circus for kids. In August I organize circus workshops for kids in cooperation with hotel Burg Vital in Lech. For me it is important that children can develop their creativity and learn to present themselves however they want to. In my opinion this is one of the aspects the school system is lacking of.

After 6 weeks kayaking in Karnten and climbing in the Dolomites I’m happy to be back home in Vorarlberg.
Vorarlberg is a paradise for climbing and biking. I like to ride technical high alpine downhills.
Beautifull view from the top of Hoher Freschen.

Hiking with my girl in Bregenzerwald.

I often carry my bike uphill before I enjoy riding downhill. Here I climb 900 vertical meters with my bike on my shoulder till the Rätschenhorn (2700m) next to Madrissa in Schwitserland.

I like the details in the nature.
Thanks to Christine for this nice picture, I love it.
This is the background scenery while we where enjoying the traditional diner at the mountain hut.
