Because the competition is post boned I decided to go home, schredding with the Gnarlberg Steinbocks. It was the first day we were all together again and one maybe the best day of the winter. Chris and Juan builded the day before a private fun park, a drop down, step up, corner, normal jump with steep landing and some small hits in between. For me the first day riding ‘park’ this winter and after a few runs I sticked perfect  my under flips on the nice corner jump. After lots of flips and spins in all direction we hiked up Monjoch. Just before the sun disappeared behind big clouds we had a nice last jib session. Check the pictures:

I missed the crazy FWT party by laying sick in bed, but soon I’m better, and I will come back stronger 😉 No details over FWT partys, for shore the craziest partys I ever saw in my life. Nothing normal happen in these nights.

After surfing Mavericks I went realy sick. I had the worst flyght ever in my life. Swetting, cold, cough and no sleep head ache and sore throat. I‘ m in Fieberbrunn, in two days next competition. Will see how I feel that day, but I gonne ride, start number 1.

The conditions at the FWT competition in Kirkwood where not the best, it did not snow for a long time and it is a dangerous face with shaky rocks and lots of threes.  My run was ok but not good enough, I did not really get in the flow. Is not so easy after a long travel, jetlag from 9 hours, conditions how are not the best and waiting for 2 hours at the start before to go. I backslapped in the upper part, there where lots of tracks in the hard snow and a moment in the middle part where I almost stopped because while riding I got a bad feeling about the landing of a big cliff I had planned to jump. After the competition Nadine Walner, Bastian Hanemann and I went back a friend of me in San Francisco. Today we went to Half Moon Bay where I surfed the world famous surf spot Mavericks on a rental board. We fly back the 4^th.

The day before yesterday, I was in a photoshoot with photographer Michiel Rotgans and two of the best snowboarders from Holland, Steff Zeestraten and Bas Elhorst. We had a great and productive day; after the first run we had already some awesome shots. We ended up riding a steep couloir where we found a White Mountain goat family. Later I met some ibex who did not move even though I was five meters from them.

Yesterday Nadine Walner and I travelled to San Fransisco. At the airport we needed about two hours to obtain a Holiday Visa. Twice I went online and paid a fifty-five euro fee, however the websites were fake and my credit cards get blocked, Nadine’s credit card also get blocked and I was urgently trying to board my flight but couldn’t download the visa confirmation sent by email. Finally a very kind woman how organised a Holiday Visa for me, and I literally ran onto the flight at the very last minute before the flight took off. Twenty hours later, a friend of mine, Sarah Weldon, picked us up at the airport.

Today we had a great, warm, sunny day, Sarah showed us around some of the nicest places. 27 February is the competition day in Kirkrood.

After the interview with the TV crew I went for a little fotoshooting with Miki. My jump, a backside 360 Indy from a super nice wind lip, was watched by 50 tourists. Check the pictures:

Just had a super nice week, guiding five very experienced freeriders of Belgium.

I got two new Boards, the Nitro Pantera and Blacklight, probably the best all mountain/freeride board I ever had.

Tomorrow a film Dutch crew is coming for two days. They make a reportage about me for a TV program ‘Hart van Nederland’. A program watched by over a million people.

I had a really good time at the Big Mountain competition in Hochfügen. Good face covered with lots of powder and I did my best competition line ever! Very fast, controlled and bigger cliffs I ever jumped before in a competition.  Ready for the next comp in Kirkrood.
